Ripping Off The Resistance
Deva Pardue uploaded her iconic design, Femme Fists, as a free pdf so that women all over the world could use in the Women's March. Money-hungry corporations had something else in mind.
This piece tells the narrative of the three fist design as it traveled from its beginnings on Instagram to online distributors internationally, without credit being given. As my first piece using 3D software, Ripping Off The Resistance stands out to me as my first time pushing what can be created in 3D. Opting against a traditional 3D look, it was my goal to create something that looked like it might be hand-drawn, and at one point I even considered tracing all of my frames to really get that look. This project was a huge learning experience for me and I enjoyed the process from beginning to end, as the research was something I felt very passionate about.
